Hi, I'm Bella, and I'm a Masters student at Sydney Uni.

I work with the Confidence Boost Tutoring team in Stanmore and Parramatta and I love tutoring because I am passionate about developing the literacy and language skills (including the language of maths!) of kids who find these areas particularly challenging. Tutoring is a great job, and I really love what I do so the time just flies!

Great tutoring gets results because it works the work to the child, rather than the other way around. When you first visit us your first session is FREE because it's very important to start off by having a discussion about what is and isn't working. We don't want to charge for this session because we want to take all the pressure off.
It's just about getting to know your child.

Once we've figured out what's missing, we start putting the pieces back together. I am yet to meet a student I can't help. Some of the students we've helped include:

A year 3 girl who used to get lots of tummy aches because she was so stressed. At recess she would get headaches too, because math was after recess. Now she loves maths, will proudly recite her times tables with a big grin, and doesn't get any more stress based tummy aches.

A year 1 boy who learnt to read by playing games, reading books and generally having a good time. Without the pressure he thrived!

A year 9 boy who went from getting Ds to Bs! He was quiet in class and wouldn't know the first thing about how to answer his assignments. Now he's approaching school with confidence and thinking about what he can do when he finishes!

Good tutoring doesn't last forever! I want to help get your child back on their feet and give them the skills they need so that in a few months, a year, or two years they can do it all by themselves. This is realistic and practical. Give kids the skills to succeed, and before you know it they will be doing it all by themselves.
